So, I have a homebuilt system with a Gigabyte GTX 770, Asus Z87 Pro, 4770k, 16GB or vengeance RAM, and a Seasonic X-750 Gold PSU. The rigged worked great for about 4 months, until it unexpectedly lost power after booting. Since then I occasionally get a faint "boing" or "click" coming from somewhere and a brief power led. I was actually able to get it to boot to the OS for ~30 sec. after leaving it unplugged for a month.

I've tried the paper clip test with a multimeter, and the voltages seem normal. The wires are seated properly. I have not checked the CPU for bent pins because I'm to lazy to remove the fan. (Could this be the problem?) If you guys have any ideas please let me know!

Thanks!!

Would that LED light be coming from your Ram light? Try booting the PC up with only 1 stick of ram inserted. It's not going to be bent pins since it was working no problem before this issue (assuming you didn't reseat the CPU). Will the computer boot into the bios or does it lose power there too?

I tried with 1 stick of RAM in the right DIMM, but still i get nothing. I tried switching them out, too. When I press the power button nothing happens save the power LED on the case for a fraction of a second. The fans I have, which are plugged directly into the PSU and controlled with a aftermarket controller, don't even spin. It never turns on long enough for me to get to the BIOS.

Should I just RMA the PSU? Seasonic has been really helpful about it so far.

I would. If the thing won't even spin fans and is powering down instantly it's got to be something wrong with the power supply. Try replacing it and see what happens. At this point that sounds like the problem.
