My friend has a MAC and he is trying to connect to the internet. The thing is he can connect to the modem wirelessly but the connection then requires another broadband connection with username and password and it seems to me there is no way to create such a connection on MAC. I am using the same internet but I have a Windows 7 laptop. I connected to the modem wirelessly and just created another broadband connection and used the usename and password provided. Is there such option on MAC ? Please help. thank you

This sounds like a PPOE (DSL) connection. Typically the user name and password are setup on the router and the router handles the WAN login.

Ye, I understand, but that is not the case here. The connection requires another broadband connection to type in the username and password. If his laptop was connected to the router with a cable I could easily fix the problem but the thing is he doesn't have a cable, he can only connect to it through WIFI but then there isn't, at leas to my knowledge, an option to create another connection. In Windows 7 it's quite easy, but I don't know what to do with his MAC.

there's, open the network options and click the + sign
interface: PPOE
Ethernet
write the service name
choose it and type in your user name and password
