Here is what I am working with so far.

A Dell T320 running 2012 standard R2 as my hyper-v host, with two broadcom teamed NICs. On that I am running 5 VMs a 2003 server a 2008 server and 3 WIn7Pro VMs. There are about 20 users on the network that all plug into a 48 port Netgear ProSafe GS748T switch, then a fortigate firewall, then the Time Warner modem. They also have VOIP phones that are on the same switch. On the 2008 server there are 2 nics on the VM one is 10.X.X.3 the other is 10.X.X.11. On Thursday I had just migrated their Goldmine from the 2003 to 2008 server.

So here is the issues I am having:

The first problem was I lost RDP connectivity to the 2012 server from our office, I was still able to get into the firewall using the WAN IP, I RDP into their remote office which has a VPN between the two, from there I could ping the all the 2003 server. I rdp into the 2003 server from there I rdp into the hyper-v server, from the hyper-v server I could ping everything but the firewall, same from the 2008 server, but the 2003 server I could ping the firewall and had internet access. During this time no one in the office lost internet access. I rebooted the servers and all was well.

The network was stable for a few days then it happened again but this time the 2003 server did not have internet access and random people in the office lost internet access. But from the remote office I was still able to ping everything through the VPN, during the troubshooting I was doing with someone onsite, the phones also lost connection. So I power cycled the switch and all was well.

The third time it happened people lost connection to the 2008 server, but from the 2008 server I could ping everything, but I could not ping the 2008 server from any computer, so I removed the 2008 server from the VM switch and readded it and all was good.

The forth time it happened was on Friday It started with one person not being able to reach the 2003 or 2008 server, and another lost internet access all together. I was able to get each fixed by adding the 10.10.X.3 ip and server name to the host file on their PCs. Once that was fixed I saw the hole network lost internet access a few hours later. I ended up having to power cycle the TW modem, the firewall to fix the internet outage.

I had read to disable VQM on all the network adapters to fix the issue, or could be caused by my 2008 server having 2 NIC with 2 different IPs? Or does anyone know of any other fix?

Well in case someone else has the problem I ended up disabling VMQ on all the network interfaces on the Hyper-V server and so far everything seems to be running good, with no loss of connection.
