Hi everyone,

I'm currently building my own gaming system, leaving my 6 years old pc to my younger brother.
This is the configuration I came up with:

Motherboard: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-493-GI
Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 5

Processor: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-539-IN
Intel Core i7-4790K

Processor cooler: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0068OI7T8
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

Graphics card: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FL8H57W
SAPPHIRE DUAL-X R9 280X 3GB OC

RAM: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-173-KS
Kingston HyperX 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-14900C9

SSD: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00E391OX6
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

Optical drive: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CD-090-LG
LG GH24NSB0

Power supply: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-153-CS
Corsair RM Series RM 650 '80+ Gold' 650W

Monitor: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-028-AS
Asus VE247H 24"

I'm open to suggestions about the case.

These are my questions for you:

Are there any big bottlenecks between MB, CPU and GPU?

Is the power supply enough for this configuration? I'm not planning any Crossfire or heavy OC.

I'm thinking about keeping the stock cooler of the processor, and changing only if necessary with an air cooling one. Do you think it will be necessary? And, if so, do you have any suggestion?

Thanks in advance :)

Alvi

I've updated the post with your suggestions, thank you for your feedback.
I think I'm getting closer and closer, but now I'm even more interested in case suggestions... anyone? :D

Go with the Sapphire graphics card as they are currently the best and biggest brands for AMD GPU in my opinion.

You will need a CPU cooler. If you go with an air cooler which tend to be big and bulky then go with low profile RAM. Like any G.Skill RAM.

Yens the PSU will be fine and there is no bottleneck. With the i7-4790K which has a base clock at 4GHz. Although you may not overclock or not but during games it goes up to 80°C which isn't good at all. Get a cheap and reliable Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler.
