Hello,
I have a problem.
My computer won't turn on when there is an audio usb interface plugged in (Presonus Audiobox). The PC just gives short noises but nothing happens. When i unplug the device it immediately turns on normally. I can then plug the device in and everything works properly. How to solve this?
What is strange the computer did turn on with this device plugged in previously. Then after unplugging and plugging it in once again it suddenly stopped. I tried different usb ports but it is all the same. The motherboard is Gigabyte GA-H81-D3 /intel H81, LGA1150/.
I will appreciate any help,
Mateusz

Go into your mobo bios. Change the boot order. I have a feeling that your PC is attempting to boot from the USB stick and it has nothing it can boot from.

change the 1st boot option to your main HDD or SSD (where ever windows is installed)

Let us know if that works.

Yes this device did work. And actually it still does work fine when i plug it seconds after hiting the 'on' switch... just seems like it somehow stops the computer from turning on. I will try changing the boot order.

I tried changing the boot order (i have just two options - hard drive or dvd, hard drive first) but it is still the same. also i found out that this doesn't happen all the time. When i tried to turn the PC on after few hours of not using it it started normally with the audio device plugged in. Then i switched the PC off and instantly tried again and it didnt start any more... also i discovered that the problem doesn't occur when i 'restart' the PC from windows, it occurs just when i shut down and try to turn on witch the switch.

Weird problem dude.... I honestly dont even know where to turn lol. I dont understand why a USB stick that should not affect the boot is doing so.

Have you tested with only that USB stick? Maybe unplug the mouse, keyboard and any other USB items. Test just that stick during start up and see what happens.

Same problem here, specifically the product is Astro usb tx. When plugged into usb 3.0, computer doesn't start. When plugged into any other usb, unbearable static is produced for listeners.

I think i might have resolved it, if anyone is still looking - this is USB device is trying to pull too much power on start up... Need to purchase, externally powered USB hub, and that should solve it.
