Hello there. I'm currently looking for a new gaming pc with a budget of $850-900. Preferably below $850, but can be stretched to $900. I want to be able to play the newest games. I'm hoping someone here could advise me what hardware I need to get the best possible graphics with mind on the budget. If it's possible I would love to see a SSD in it. OS, monitor and other accessories can be left out. Both AMD and Intel builds are welcome.

Thank you for your time.

Room in the price to add an SSD if you want. Note that they are really a luxury at this budget level. You're better off investing in a better GPU. They are great for load times, but don't help with FPS at all. I'll take FPS over load times any day.

An SSD with that budget should be a problem!

That computer will be able to play all modern games with good FPS on high to ultra! :)  Plus that i5 will be really nice in MMO games! Feel free to ask questions

That's a very nice system there Masterdell. I like it a lot. It leaves the decision up to overclocking in the future or an SSD now. That's what it comes down to, and I think we'd get opinions for both sides of that question. Hard to choose!

Yeah I agree, what he could do is get rid of the overclocking and the SSD then bump up to a 290 like this:

I never really suggest SSDs below $1200 but if he really wants fast load times then that should be a problem!

*EDIT* 550w changed to 620w**

MasterDells 2nd build looks awesome. I would personally go with a 600 watt PSU for extra head room but that's just me. Adding in an SSD at a later time is pretty easy so I agree with Jim. Graphic power over load times.

Thank you for the replies.

I think you are right about the SSD, lets leave it out. About overclocking; I don't think I will be overclocking anywhere soon.

The 1st build of MasterDell is really great, but I got a few problems:
- I can't find the ASRock H97 PERFORMANCE motherboard in shops in my county (The Netherlands). I can find the ASRock H97 Pro4.
- Due to living in the Netherlands and the high tax (i think) the parts are way more expensive here. When I calculate price for the 1st build of MasterDell I got to a total of €729, which is around $950, which is a little high :p

(For the calculation I used the ASRock H97 Pro4 instead of the PERFORMANCE and I already left out the SSD.)

Any suggestions to make it any cheaper without losing the R9 280X? Maybe by using AMD instead of Intel for the CPU?

Thank you.

Try using an i5 4440 instead of the 4570 and tell us where that brings it.. Also the H97 Pro4 will be just fine. Will us using PC part picker in Germany help?

That will help a lot. The prices between The Netherlands and Germany are about the same. I didn't know there was a part picker Germany, otherwise I would have mentioned it in my starting post. Sorry about that.

Noted using the i5-4440 instead of the i5-4570. Any more suggestions?

Thanks! I think this is a great build.

And ofcourse I know that Deutschland means Germany, I do speak basic German :p  I just didn't knew part picker had the option to choose between counties, but I do now.

I just have 2 more questions
- Why do you recommend an Intel i5-4430 instead of for example an AMD FX-8350?
- Isn't a CPU cooler necessary?

I speak basic German aswell :p  A cpu cooler is actually included when you buy most processors and all i5s do come with one. I don't suggest an 8350 because it isn't nearly as fast when it comes to single threaded applications like opening word docs and surfing the internet. Getting an 8350 also means changing the motherboard and I really hate most of the motherboard chipsets that amd uses. Usually I recommend the fx series for people who game and video edit quite a bit! Don't forget that the 8350 actually is 50 euros more too. But with 50 euros more you will barely notice a difference in performance. Best to invest that somewhere else. A better i5 would be the 4670 which goes for 30 euros more than the 4430. The 4670 beats the 8350 up down and around the corner.

Here the FX-8350 is €5 cheaper then the i5-4430, but you should have not mentioned that i5-4670 haha. Now I want it, but the budget is pretty thight. So I think I will go for the last build you made me. Or are you a miracleworker and able to fit the i5-4670 in the budget?

Okay thats what I came up with and thats as cheap as it can get without dropping quality on the PSU. If you want it to be cheaper you could get a lesser quality PSU but thats up to you!

Sorry for my delayed response. Thank you for the last build, but it's just a little to expensive (Motherboard also costs €83,30 here). I will go for the other build.

Again, thank you for your time :)

Hello, one more question. Can I also use a ASRock B85 Pro4 motherboard instead of the H87 Pro4 (I'm not going to overclock)? Thanks
