Yahoo hijacked Chrome and Firefox browsers

Problem: When a new search is placed into the omnibox within chrome SOMETIMES the search results will be rendered through yahoo. The same goes for firefox but the searches are always performed through yahoo. This does not occur when the same situation is performed in Opera, Safari, or IE.

Tried this: The settings in both chrome and firefox do not have yahoo in anything pertaining to yahoo. Removed both applications and reinstalled. Ran cc cleaner and super anti spyware.

What could be doing this and how can this be fixed?

It must be a real nasy one because I have installed that aplication and it resulted in a BSOD each time. I could only repair the computer with safemode then a system restore which instals the original issue. All the browser plugins are off.

Welcome to Tom's, mdarya. This is a technical advice Forum and folks like to see answers to problems immediately. Posting a link to another, lesser known, advice site four months down the line is a waste of time.

Fortunately, I can see you're not directly connected to that site but if you were, I would have to ban you for Commercial Spamming.
