Why are the Z99 already out...

Solution
Z97 is for the consumer market. Mostly gamed at gamers and those who want to overclock.

The X99 chipset is aimed at enthusiasts or people who need workstations. Z97 is compatible with Haswell and the future Broadwell chips which are 2-4 cores. The X99 is compatible with the Haswell-E (Enthusiast) chips which are 6-8 cores. Additional the X99 platform has 40 PCI-E 3.0 lanes (vs 16 on Z97), and a Quad-Channel DDR4 interface (vs Dual-Channel DDR3).

X99 is a lot more expensive and in most cases overkill unless you need workstation performance or want the PCI-E lanes for tri/quad SLI setups. Z97 is where most high end consumers/gamers should look.

Yes I mean X99. Thanks to both real goods informations. I have the Asus Formula VI but the VII is very attractive however I always think about the Asus black edition IV but it is pricy.
