Hi all!

So I recently upgraded my motherboard to a z97-Pro and installed my old and new hardware onto it. Installation was a success. This included my soundcard; a Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Creative Fatal1ty.

I have a set of z5500 speakers which I've had for a good 5 years or so now and they've been fine, if not great. Yet I've had a replacement control pod ever since the original died earlier this year and I was too cheap to buy an official replacement. When plugging it into my sound card and installing the necessary fatal1ty drivers, it works when I hit the 'test' and 'configure' speaker buttons and a sound is played through each.

However, when playing music through the likes of spotify, iTunes, google chrome, Netflix etc etc - it doesn't respect the 5.1- in fact, it plays 2.1 only by the sounds of it. Battlefield 4 has surround sound capabilites and has the back left and right speakers working as well, but the subwoofer just doesn't omit anything on any application unless in 'test' mode.

TL;DR: I know the speakers are in tact as they all play a 'sound'- but not through some applications.
