So recently I have made some upgrades to an older system believing i could game again. I made upgrades or replacements to the Mobo, GPU, network card. I still struggle to get consistently good fps. I hover right around 30 and inside dungeons and instances i am in single digits especially during 25 man encounters. Please help because I cant even play the game the way it is now although I feel like my system should be able to handle more.

Specs:
Mobo: ASRock Z77 Extreme 4
CPU: i5-3570K
GPU: MSI AMD Radeon R7 260X
Mem: 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHZ
HDD: Samsung 830 128GB SSD
HDD 2: Barracuda 1TB HD
HDD 3: Lacie external 1 TB HDD
Wireless: Tp Link N900

And to add, I have recently been overclocking my video card and receiving a slight boost in performance, and I'd love to try and overclock my cpu but the case I have does not have goo ventilation so without a better case or a liquid cooling system i think im out of luck there. Please help. Thank you so much for your time..

Solution

I'm sure that it's either a virus or malware.
The stupid pop-up adds that totally slow down everything.
Fix it & I'm sure you'll be ok.

I appreciate all the help and again sorry for the tardy response long day at work. So all my addons are update and it still seems slow hovering around 25-25 fps in dungeons and in cities or in 10 mans/25 mans i get anywhere from 2fps to 15 fps. So something is amiss lol. I am thinking could the fact that I have wow installed on a hard drive that is not my primary boot drive?

I recently installed windows 7 ultimate via USB and I installed it on my 1 TB HDD, because I screwed up and didnt put it on my SSD like i meant to lol. So I tried to install Windows 7 ultimate on my SSD and when I go to boot after install it says, "BOOTMGR Missing" restart. So I'm wondering if that may cause an issue because I have Wow on the SSD because SSD is faster, but the SSD is not my primary boot drive because it does not have an OS.

Hopefully I didnt confuse you there and I apologize if I did.

That might be the cause im not 100% sure and unfortuanatly no one else seems to know as well :/

But try installing it on the drive with the OS and see if that helps or maybe just copy the game over to that drive i've copied my game from drive to drive without re installing the hole thing it would be only to test it anyway, and just copy dont move it :) and then run it from the OS drive.

And have u tested how the game runs on low compared to high/ultra settings ? is it the same or is there any frames difference between the 2 ?

So I've officially tried everything, and I've come to the conclusion, well i'm about 85% sure I have a virus. Now my web browser is all wonky with pop ups and crap. SO I'm thinking that may be the root.
