keyboard needed to boot new SDD

ok so i was changing out my HDD for a newer and bigger memory HDD but it won't even let me get past the load options b/c my keyboard drivers aren't installed in the new HDD, so I bought a usb connector for my newer hard drive and am stuck using it as a glorified flash drive, how do i clone my keyboard drivers into the new HDD before i install it on the connectors my old HDD is using ?

What keyboard are you using? I've never had a problem installing with a wireless keyboard. Initially, it doesn't have all the extra stuff, but it works just fine as a basic keyboard.

I had this problem with an old Logitech wireless keyboard so I used an old wired keyboard until I could load the drivers.
You can pick basic wired keyboards up dirt cheap.

using a wired keyboard and can't press F1 to save changes to attempt to load OS

What is happening ? is the F1 key on the keyboard not working when you press it ?
Are there no other options on that BIOS for example to save and exit BIOS ,save changes,exit BIOS as separate keys.

none of the keys work when i hook it up as primary using the power and data jacks and unplug the default drive

With your original hard drive installed,enter BIOS and make sure that the USB keyboard support is enabled .
