Hey you guys! It's Shamar here again with another head scratcher.

Should i go with the GeForce GTX 650 vs R7 250X? from what I have seen these cards ar pretty comparable but I could be mistaken, so I was hoping the someone could help me out!

I was told that eathier of these cards could run bf4 at a steady 60-70fps on medium settings, being the cheapo that i am I thought i should go ahead and try one of these babies in my new $300 low gaming and video editing rig

Tell me if I should change anything in this build or any suggestions but i'm not looking to spend over $300 (After rebates and shit)

Here's my build:

AMD 5350 2.05GHz Quad-Core Processor

Gigabyte GA-AM1M-S2H Micro ATX AM1 Motherboard

G.Skill Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

GeForce GTX 650 vs R7 250X

Hitachi Ultrastar 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Diablotek DIAMOND ATX Mid Tower Case w/400W Power Supply

Rosewill RFA-80-BL 33.2 CFM 80mm Fan - x3 (You gotta have the flashy lights :D  )

Thanks in advance guys! I really appreciate your efforts!!

That little Kabini may be the weak link, but yeah... go with the R7-250X. It is newer tech and you probably couldn't tell the difference anyway.

The r7 250x will work, but be warned...
That PSU you have wont last more that 2 weeks. It will die and may take some of your parts with it. I suggest you get a 500 watt or above EVGA or Corsair PSU. Diablotek makess the WORST psus on the market
Reviews I dug up:

1 out of 5 eggsJunk
Pros: Neweggs service

Cons: failed after a few months. RMA is a joke, submit button took me to home page with no confirm email! Think I am stuck with a paperweight

Other Thoughts: I guess you get what you pay for, this thing is junk DO NOT BUY!!!

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY! FIRE HAZARD! They burn up, company does not respond to RMA requests
Pros: None

Cons: I brought in about 6 of these for system builds. 2 have just died, and 3 have burst into flames. Messaged their support department over 10 times, with no response except an automated 'we got your message'. I will NEVER purchase one of their units again and have swapped them all out due to the extreme FIRE HAZARD.

Other Thoughts: Stay far away from diablotek. search the web and you will see many complaints of these things bursting into flame.

Oh really? Damn, thank you for telling me that about my power supply! I really would't want to have to replace any of my flaming components.

What case would you recommend? Of couse something thats cheap but effective

Well the case is fine... just throw the psu away :D  they screw out easily
heres the PSU i have... it hasnt failed me yet

Remember, always look up the manufacturer and inquire about their quality and reliability.
If you need a standalone case, the FRACTAL DESIGN CORE is a good option.
Once again: the PSU is the most important part of your computer: Spend at least 30$ on it and buy from a trusted manufacturer.

Also I got a good deal on a 260x ($76) on ebay :D  I'm thinking about getting soem more parts off of ebay

This build just went $38 buck over budget...Oh well, imma have fun with it

I wouldn't go much more than that 260X with that Kabini. It's not exactly a gaming CPU. Only about the performance level of the old Athlon II X2 250 dual core. http://cpuboss.com/cpus/AMD-Athlon-II-X2-250-vs-AMD-Ath...

??? Your motherboard has an AM1 socket. You are limited to Kabini CPUs. http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-p...

You should get an AM3+ motherboard for gaming. The Gigabyte GA-78LMT-s2p Can be had for less than 40$ sometimes.
If you want a gaming CPU, go with an FX processor. The FX-4300 is about 100$ and is quad core, the 6300 is hexa core, and the 8350 is octa core.
The AM3+ protocol is also backwards compatible with am3 processors, so you can get some deals on older hardware. You can probably get an FX-6300 on ebay for around 20-30$ used.

It looks like 5350s are running about 60-70$ new on the web, so its not that much loss. the FX processors have a newer, more powerful architecture that is for gaming and will have a much better outcome than the 5350.

By future proofing your build with later protocols, you will save yourself money in the long run, especially if it only means spending 50-60$ extra
