Will I be able to play smoothly on max settings in any game with the parts? (Building a gaming PC)

I am just about to go ahead and build my first ever desktop. I am planning on using it for heavy gaming. I want to be able to play any game smoothly on max settings. I have listed what will be going into the desktop. So my main question is this,
With these parts, Would i be able to play smoothly on max settings for just about any game?

Well there's a few things I would suggest:

1. You have a NAS-designated hard drive that won't really be ideal if you're going to use it as a mass storage drive. Get a regular Caviar Black / Blue instead.

2. Ditch the PSU - Corsair CX power suppies are not that good. You can definitely get better for not much more money like a EVGA G2 or Seasonic G series.

3. No reason to go with Z87, get the updated Z97 and the i7-4790K instead.

4. Get faster RAM for Haswell, you want at least DDR3-2133 or better.

5. Finally drop the BD-R drive and get a standard DVD-R drive (or you could skip that entirely and go for a NZXT H440 instead), and you could also get a better cooler in the process.

What is your budget?

You got great hints from g-unit, and I wanted to recommend the same things.
The one thing to add, whould be to recomend an SSD, if you can fit one in your budget.
It would be a shame to have such a nice build, without an SSD in it.
