Hey i have a amd fx8320(stock cooler) and stock speed asrock 990fx extreme3 and 8 gb 1866 and themperatures is too high 55C in bios and in safe mode 68C and continue to increase. i need to ask if its the mortherboard problem or procesor or anything else. I see on internet idle temp with stock cooler is around 32-40C in normal windows boot and mine has 68 idle on safe mode if i buy a aftermarket cooler and thermal paste should fix it? i use the case without the panel for more air Please respond to me *(sorry for my bad english)*

The 8320 is a hot chip and it would be a good idea to use an aftermarket cooler to cool it down.

its a hot chip but is too hight to on stock cooler i was happy if it was just 40C or 45C because i know i dont have a good airflow in case

Not bad compared to the Intel chips? I get 32C idle and 65C under load with my i5 under the stock cooler.

@OP: Yeah, airflow does affect temps too. Adding a couple of intake/exhaust fans could change your temps but not as much as a aftermarket cooler would.

EDIT: The H55 you posted is a great choice!

But i dont use cpu to overheat like benchmarcks and this things is on idle. Im scared to enter in bf3 or another game.

Taking the side panels off of a case stagnates the air inside the case and can cause really high temps for the components. The case is enclosed the way it is so the air inside the case can move faster using the case fans. When I had my side panels open when using my old Phenom II 925 my CPU temp would fly from an idle of 32C to 70C and cause the CPU fan to move at full speed at idle. When I closed the side panels the temps dropped back down. I would recommend putting your side panels back on and checking your temps that way.

Yes on the aftermarket cooler. Four core with no OC MAYBE but not on an 8 core.
Whenever you have a problem like you have the first thing you should do is check you heatsink. Remove, Check the TIM or thermal paste. Reseat your heatsink. Computer Tech 101. Sometimes it can be another problem an you are describing some high temps.

AMD Fx stock coolers are complete garbages, get your cpu a 3rd cooler, anything tower-hsf with at least 3 heatpipes (yes 3 is enough), do NOT go for low profile or something like that as they'll spread the heat everywhere & mess the air flow in your case. Or get the cheapest closed loop liquid cooling kit you can find and you're good to go ;) .

I personally would go for air cooling over closed loop liquid cooling, those closed loop cooler looks nice but their performance is bad (H55-H60 are only on par with those cheap 3 heatpipes cooler) and especially Corsair H series are famous with their stock fans doing Tarzan roars whenever they're turned on.
