Lately I have noticed something that has been bothering me quite a bit, my RAM usage is at 90% under idle when I have 16gb of RAM. If you have any suggestions or more questions please comment.

Can you post a screenshot of the Processes tab of Task Manager ordered by memory usage?

Hi,

Try opening up Resource Monitor to see what process/application is using the most memory.

Just search "Resource Monitor" in the Start menu, and click the very first result.

Then, navigate to the tab labeled "Memory", and sort the processes from the highest amount of physical memory used, to the lowest, by clicking on the button labeled "Working Set"

By looking at the process at the top of the list, you can identify which process/application is using the most physical memory.

If the process is not familiar to you, run a virus/malware scan using an antivirus software, just to be sure your computer is not infected.

I wouldn't expect this to happen on a PC with 16GB of RAM, so definitely keep me posted on the issue.

Best Regards,

Josh

I can't screen shot, but I can just list them from most to least averaging the amount to the nearest 100 in Kb

Origin, 150,000
Skype, 135,000
Crome (1 tab) 115,000
Chrome (no idea why more appear, I only have 1 tab open) 90,100
Steam Client Bootstrapper, 90,000
Google Chrome, 85,000
Steam Client WebHelper, 50,500k
Windows Explorer, 50,300
AMD Raptr, 35,200
CCC, 30,900
Chrome, 25,200
DWM, 25,000
Chrome (5 different ones) 20,000 each
Netgear, 8,500

20 more processes equaling 37,000

I don't know how to take a screen shot, it would help to know ;p

When I have steam and Origin open at the same time is when it goes bad, other wise I am sitting at 65% memory usage. When both are open, Steam stays fine at its normal amount but Origin goes through the roof ending up at a whopping 1,000,000 Kb.

here is a little prtscrn software i like.

http://app.prntscr.com/en/index.html

otherwise you can just press the prtscrn button on the keyboard and paste that image into anything else you want. a quick google search will bring up some youtube tutorials

you can try and uninstall origin restart your computer then reinstall.

this really just seems to be a case of to many programs open at once. chrome runs multiple processes because it runs everything as a separate thread for security reasons.
