I have an Amd fx 6300 (no OC) paired with a R7 270X DUAL-X Sapphire OC edition.
It runs not almost but every game maxed out( I dont use a very large monitor though)
* The above includes Watch Dogs and gta 4.

So i have one question.(actually 2)
why do people buy intel i5 a lot for gaming while an amd fx 63xx and 83xx series can max out any game.
Why do they have to buy an processor with integrated graphics if they are gonna use an good card for gaming.

Please forgive me if this question is dumb.

P.S If i overclock my fx 6300( i have an hyper 212x) which i can will it increase fps in-game by a significant and noticable amount or is it just a waste?
I use an Asus m5a97 r2.0

People buy Intel because generally it is more powerful than AMD and are more future-proof; AMD are better for the money, though. Additionally, the integrated graphics just come with it, some people use them and others don't, but they don't hurt to have if your GPU is dead or you want to troubleshoot a bad GPU by switching to on-board graphics.

Intel CPUs tend to have stronger individual cores than amd CPUs, so in most games they will produce more frames per second. However, it is thought that in the near future games will start to utilise more than 4 cores (i5 cpus have 4 cores and the modern amd cpus have 6-8 cores) which will obviously benefit amd cpus.
