I've just tried to connect a new 2TB WD Caviar Green to my computer, motherboard Z68 Extreme4 Gen3, and it's not recognised in Bios. The drive makes a faint beeping sound when it's plugged in.

I have plugged another new drive, Seagate 2TB, into the same port with the same cables and no problems.

Any suggestions? Or just RMA it?

Cheers.

Hey Keith,

I'm truly sorry to hear about your bad experience with this WD Green. Most probably because of the beeping sound and as @masterdam17 suggested you have a faulty drive.
Here's a link to how to get your defective drive replaced: http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8
And of course a link to our tech support: http://support.wdc.com/contact/contact.asp?lang=en

Hope this helps you and best of luck!
