I have windows 7 and a HDD with 3 partitions. Today while I was trying to move a file I noticed one of my partitions was write protected. I'd like to move my files on the protected partition to a SD card.

After searching online, I noticed many of the solutions are to use cmd/diskpart, but I am not sure if that is a safe choice considering I do not want to lose any data on my partition. Is there a way to remove write protection without losing data?

Solution
How large is the partition that is write protected? Try right clicking on that partition and then click on properties. Click on the security tab once the properties window is open. Check to make sure that you have permission to write to that drive. When you right click and then click on properties is there a check beside Write Protected or something like Read Only?
