so i was looking into crypto currency mining and i wondered how would i fit a ton of cards on one board? Now i have seen all the risers from pcie to pcie x16, but i wos wondering what would i do when i ran out of pcie? (i was looking to make a profit). Then i saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CjldZLXiAU and saw the splitters at 3:52 connected to the gpio ports of his raspberry PI's to those massive blocks of pcie cards and i thought
"where the heck did he get those?". And after looking around for about a hour (with no avail) i decided to ask you guys.

P.S I dont need all the hatemail telling me how bitcoin and the like is so stupid i have heard it all i was just curious as to the whole ordeal.

Try bitcoin forums.

PCIE risers are not a common sold thing at most pc stores. Those that use their pc for gaming have no need of the extra slots, but you can find some on ebay/amazon and some stores that are meant for bitcoin mining.

Although if you're going to buy one make sure you buy the powered riser, if it is not powered it can actually burn out the paths in your motherboard.

this is true however i have seen the risers and this was not a riser it was like a gigantic extender board that extended the 1 gpio of his raspberry pi port to like 7 pcie ports and even if i dont go mining it still will be handy to have one for a personal data server
(i have been meaning to make one)
