This is my first pc build and i was able to put everything together and all the fans and lights turn on but the dram led is a solid red and i get no video. I don't know what's the problem. Here are my specs:

Mobo: Asus m5a97 r2.0
Cpu: FX 6300
Gpu: Sapphire r7 265
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 1x4gb 1600mhz cl9 1.5v
Psu: Corsair cx600

I've tried pushing the MemOk, I've tried taking out the RAM and putting it in every slot, and i've checked the cpu and there are no bent pins. The EATX and heatsink fan are both plugged.
Can anyone advise me on what to do?
Is it a faulty motherboard or RAM?
Is the Ram even compatible with this MB? I've referred to the MB manual and it isn't listed under the compatible memory list.
Any thoughts?

Solution
The recommended slot for a single stick on that board is A2 (second from left). Make sure that it's fully seated and both locks engaged - people often don't press hard enough to fully seat it because they're afraid of breaking something. Then when you power up, hit the MemOK button again.

If the light doesn't blink and you're sure that it's fully seated (and it doesn't work in any other slot), you may have a faulty mobo or faulty stick. If possible, try your stick in another computer, or a different stick in yours. If a known good stick won't work in yours, it's the mobo. If your stick won't work in a different computer, it's the DRAM.

Solution
make sure the 4/8 pin cpu power plug is connected. if your using and after market heat sink make sure the metal back plate not shorting out the mb or screw down to tight and crushing the cpu lid. use a usb stick and usb flashback port put the newest bios file on the mb. make gotten old stock and it missing cpu or ram code.
