BF edition gpu crossfire incompatibility

is it true that the msi battle field edition r9 gpu's are not crossfire compatible? it said so in their website with a side to side comparison of the items... i have 2 of them and are planning to crossfire - am i out of luck?

of course that is NOT true. there is a lot of wrong information out there. ignore it. the box from your GPU specifically states that you can do crossfire with that card. i personally had a pair of those cards in crossfire on release day. worked alright, minus the occasional microstutter. but that was a driver issue that was allegedly worked out.

the ONLY difference between a regular reference 290x and a "battlefield edition" 290x is that the latter was a limited edition issue that came with a free copy of battlefield 4. otherwise they are identical.

i can see why someone may think that this card is not capable of crossfire. the 290x cards don't use a crossfire bridge. all the crossfire "bridging" is done by the PCI E lanes.

thank you - coz a friend of mine (not reliable source) told me it cant be done that's why the box came with not crossfire bridge. so i just bridge them + install drivers + apply crossfire via ccc and im good to go?

plug both cards in, install drivers, reboot, enable CrossFire in the the catalyst control center. it's that easy!
