RAID 0 offers no redundancy. If one drive fails, you wil lose all the data on the array. I wouldn't recommend it for an OS drive. If you must use RAID for your OS, go RAID 1 or higher. Be sure to make regular backups, as RAID is not a backup solution.

SSD + RAID 0 = zero real world performance benefit.

Go with a single SSD drive for OS and a larger drive or drives for storage. RAID is only good for SSD's if you are using more than 2 in a RAID array.

This will only provide you with data protection or redundancy. RAID 0 doesn't make data transfer speed faster using SSD's as it does with regular hard drives.

So if you are wanting extra speed on your storage you might consider multiple SSD drives in RAID 5 or 10, but if that's no concern just go with your regular plated hard drives in RAID or just on their own.

Wiki has a pretty good explanation of RAID types to help you choose.

well i guess ill do so: 240gb ssd for os and sshd for storage. if there is no segnificant speedup in procesing with raid, then i dont see a point in investing in it....
i appreciate all your help !! :D
