downloading updates stops suddenly and showing unable to connect to the internet

I hv installed Quick Heal Antivirus Pro. It ws done successfully and when i moved to quick update, the Downloading Updates failed after completing half. It is irritating me from yesterday. Plz suggest some better solution to this problem. My internet connection is good, other application is working properly, only this Downloading updates creating problem..
Plzz help me..

Uninstall Quick Heal AV - I've read many complaints about it slowing down the computer and/or causing connectivity problems.
It's reputation as a trustworthy product is also not established.

Install a more popular antivirus.
