an i5 2500k is still a great gaming CPU. You could get an r9 290x if you had the money!

No way, the 260x will bottleneck the 2500k!

I run a overclocked GTX 680 which is way better than a 260x on my 2500k and it doesnt get close to bottlnecking it.

yup, i also have a 2500k, great cpu, besides, you can still oc it if you want. mine is @4ghz, i can opt to set it higher if needed. i mean, is 4ghz not enough for todays game? usually it's the gpu that is the limiter

Yeah its enough. A 2500k @ 4ghz is similar performance to a brand new i5 4570. 4Ghz is a tiny overclock for the 2500k, you could go much higher.
