Rig build - Would appreciate some feedback greatly!

First things first... I've got an seven year old pc atm and been putting off on buying a new until I can get some 4k ready rig. This is what I've got so far.

Motherboard: MSI X99S GAMING 9 AC
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-5930K
RAM: Corsair 16GB DDR4 2800MHz
Graphic: GTX 880
Case: NZXT Phantom 820 Full Tower Case
Paste: Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H110
HDD: WD Black 3TB x2
SSD: Samsung 840 250GB
PSU:Corsair PowerSupply (PSU) AX860 860W 80PLUS Platinum
ETC: Dvd reader and proper DVI cable for monitor, using mini-hd right now.. LOL

I doubt I missed anything - plan on going SLI in future with an additional 880. I've been waiting for a long long long time for the x99 6-core processor.

My largest concern is if its all compatible and will fit the case? My own research so far shows it should all be neat. I'd love better/alternative solutions or just a confirmation to go with this otherwise.

Nice build. Try PCPartPicker, you may find a cheaper price on the parts and it will inform you incompatibilities.

From what I know everything is fine with the new released CPU, motherboard and RAM.

What's the difference between the GTX 880 and 990? Is the difference really big enough to wait and considering my current build, I assume I'd be far more suitable to get a 990?

Well I can't predict the future nor be really accurate here. However if you remembered the Nvidia GTX 690, a powerful card and in some games or maybe most it performed way better than the current Nvidia GTX 780. So maybe the Nvidia GTX 690 may be worth the wait as most enthusiasts loved the 690's performance over the 780. But when the 780Ti was released early this year it then became a hit. But both the 780Ti and 690 is a close match in my opinion.

880 was supposed to be the Maxwell, not 900. So I assume that carries weight as well. I'll ponder on the price and see how desperate I am next month. Think the prices on everything else will also drop by the time 990 is out on all my parts?

I keep my recomendation for your SLI though: 1000W gold PSU from Seasonic, XFX, Antec, EVGA, Corsair, be quiet!, Rosewill.
