So first of I do have a stock cooler on my cpu, I wont be overclocking at all but will be playing battlefield 4 on ultra settings for hours on end. Will this stock cooler be able to handle it?! I'm really concerned now and dont know whether I should get am after market cooler

Solution
If this is the i7-4790K, then some people have problem with the stock cooler. On light games people got up to 80°C.

But it your case— 90°C. Did you apply thermal paste when installing the stock cooler. If so consider the aftermarket cooler, get a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo which is reasonable and performs well. But some held backs are it is an air cooler and tend to be big and you may require a low profile RAM.

What version of Prime95 are you using? if you're using the latest version, it puts an unrealistic amount of stress on modern Intel CPUs and makes the temps go through the roof. Find a copy of version 26.6 to stress test with reasonable temperatures.
