Headphones work mic on it doesnt.

My mic doesnt work anymore after i came back from holidays. I go to Recording devices i see the mic. I set it as default i enable it still doesnt work. I speak into the mic no green lines appear showing that it can hear me.
I tried to go to the properties of the mic and editing the Levels tab at the top nothing works. Even when i disconnect the mic it still appears as connected in Recording Devices.

Another approach to this issue is to completely remove your device and reinstall it. If it is a USB device, once you plug it back into your USB port, Windows should automatically download and install the correct driver.

Should the above solution not work, follow the steps outlined on the Download and install drivers page. It lists steps for not only manually installing drivers from a disc or manufacturer's website, but also from Windows Update which automates finding and installing the appropriate drivers for your devices.
