Yes its compatible but will lose some performance as 780 Ti is optimal with PCIe 3.0 while the MoBo has PCIe 2.0, the performance drop can be anywhere b/w 2-10% based on the usage.
but it is still gonna be alot greater than my R9 270x ?, i am doing a full new build in time, but right now dont have the money, but i can afford the gpu

Yes its worth the money even with slight drop in performance, the drop is not gonna be more than 5-7% at most times, and 780 Ti will obviously be a lot better performer than 270X. You can also wait for the latest Nvidia series to release which'll most likely drop 700 series prices, or maybe you can even get one from the latest series
That'd be even better! Even I didn't do any experiments, just speaking from seeing what other respectable members have posted over the years (or months), can't really name one but I developed this concept that PCIe 3.0 will have max performance, but I'm open to corrections (one just made: PCI 2.0 is no different from 3.0)
It is a fact that with current cards there is no difference between 3.0 and 2.0. That benchmark proves it.
OP, DO NOT worry about 2.0. You will not lose any performance.
Thanks for correcting me btw, learning is slow process, and I'd back myself up or atleast check twice before mentioning about PCI affect on GPU from now on, didn't really mean to show the wrong way to anyone, a genuine mistake from my side.
