Hi there, I have no idea what's going on with my pc at the moment and figured someone might be able to help. Recently its been entering power save mode whilst I'm in the middle of using it and I haven't been able to exit it without restarting it. I also have gone from averaging 250 - 300fps on Counter strike to now only getting 60fps. I checked my pc's temperatures and stuff using open hardware monitor but have no idea what it all means? could you take a look and let me know if i should be worried and what I can do to fix it? thanks

Here is a link to my pc's temperatures: http://imgur.com/B9sPxgM,io5nz1h#0

My PC's specs are: GPU - GTX760, CPU - AMDFX 8320 8 core processor, I have 8 gig of ram and a 1tb hard drive.

Any help is much appreciated.

Have you ran a complete virus scan with that new anti virus? I'd do that if you had not done so yet. And i would check my video card drivers next if the anti virus finds nothing wrong as some drivers do work better then others for various games.

Sounds like it is locking up because the program has stopped responding. What windows are you using? And what anti virus are you using? Your temps look great from the pic you posted but that wasn't under stress though was it? Although i do not think the temps would jump up higher then that by to large amount under stress. So i do not think it seems to be a hardware malfunction due to heat. Seems to be software related.

Ok than thanks that's very re assuring. I am currently using windows 8.1 64 bit and I have very recently had my anti virus expire so I haven't got anything at the moment. Could that be the issue? Obviously I am planning on renewing my anti virus so could that fix my issues?

Also the picture was not under stress like you mentioned, I guess I just panicked as I saw the value was the same as the max which I thought meant everything was running at its very maximum which freaked me out aha. I could have a look at the temperatures when its under a bit of stress if you think that would help?

Again thanks for the help :)

No anti virus is a big no no. Some virus's can run in the back ground eating up resources on your pc like a stoner in a donut factory. And if it takes away resources your programs need to run the pc locks up. I would use a program like superantispyware to scan for some malicious programs and use http://www.avira.com/en/download/product/avira-free-antivirus and run it is free not the top of the line antivirus but it sure beats nothing at all lol. I'd use those two programs and see if that fixes the problem or not and uninstall my current antivirus until you decide to repay for it.

ccleaner does help to keep things running smoothly by clearing unneeded junk and can also help keep your registry clean so after running the two programs i mentioned i'd run ccleaner to help optimize it a bit more i run all 3 of those on my pc and never have had a problem. Hope it helps.

Again, thanks for the continued support, really appreciate it. I have used ccleaner as well as the program you mentioned which detected 31 issues which I had removed. I have also installed the anti virus you suggested which I will use for a few days before I purchase some proper stuff.

I am still however experiencing a huge loss in fps when playing counter strike which is leading me to believe it could be an issue with the game or my settings in some way. Do you think that sounds like it's the case or could there still be some form of virus on my computer which the software never detected? I haven't experienced my pc shutting down in a while however which may be an issue that has been resolved through your help.

thanks again
