Internal HDD disconnects when defragmenting

I use Piriform Defraggler to defrag my Seagate Barracuda internal 2TB HDD (which is only used for music and video storage) but as it nears 50%+ completion it will halt and my HDD will disconnect itself, requiring a system reboot for it to be recognised again.

I have used Defraggler for years and know many others who use it, over the Windows built-in defrag, and have never experienced a problem at all, let alone this specific issue. It only happens to this specific HDD I have which was bought brand-new recently and works perfectly fine until I attempt a defrag.

Has anyone experienced this issue or can offer me advise on how to stop it from disconnecting itself? All of my drivers and software for everything are completely up to date and I build computers myself so all of the hardware wiring, data transfer and power supply factors are fine.

Lend me your aid! :)
Much appreciated.

I've never experienced this, either, so "something else must be going on." Like... bad HDD or something. I would run disk-diags on it (CHKDSK, at least), and then I'd run Windows own defragmenter as well. Skip Fraggler for a bit and run The Basic Stuff to see if the behavior is different.
