I am a first time builder, therefore have no experience. I decided to put together a pc that is about 500-550£ and would like to buy everything from Amazon. So here are the components :

If both builds are using the same graphics card, the i5-4460 is superior to the FX-8350 in terms of gaming. Otherwise, whichever build has the better graphics card will be better. In this case my build is superior to yours because he will benefit more with GTX770 in gaming with 8320 than he would with 270x and 4460. Also after the overclock of 8320 single thread performance will be boosted so it comes really close to 4460
 
@Proofy: I'm not comparing or challenging your build. My posted build is my point of view and it is as per the requirement of the OP particularly these options are from Amazon UK. We can't compare price differences directly. We need to consider the available options from the mention country. Custom Duties, Shipping charges etc.

Yes like I said if both builds are using the same graphics card(GTX770 lets say), the i5-4460 is superior to the FX-8350 in terms of gaming. Otherwise, whichever build has the better graphics card will be better.
 


It also draws less power and performs better in my opinion.
