Hello everyone,

After buying a 780ti (Wind-force) i noticed i don't have enough room to install my Corsair H100i cooling system with full push/pull configuration (5 mm short :pfff: ).

This means that even with the fan behind the radiator at a high RPM (2000+) the airflow to my GPU's isn't optimal - as for the other side it is superb, and aligned with a strong Noctua exhaust.

Here is an image to clarify the build - sorry for the horrible quality:

There are of-course 2 fans on the other side of the radiator (total of 3 out of 4).

My question is, is there a good PWM 4pin, 19mm maximum profile 120mm case fan that will work as good (or better) than the stock fans of the H100i on the 240 radiator?

Should i get 4 for a push/pull configuration?

I don't care about LED, looks or anything, just for high CFM and air pressure for the radiator and case intake.

Edit: i can get my hands on these: http://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products/fans/slip-stream-1...
But i don't know if they are any good for radiator cooling (they are 700 RPM less than the stock ones i have) and they are 3 pin - does that mean that the corsair link software won't be able to control its speed?

More about : low profile 120mm radiator case fans

After researching on different threads, I found this fan: GELID Solutions Slim 12 - 15/16mm 4pin and max RPM 1600.

Isn't switching from 2700 rpm to 1600 abit too low?

Will it be horrible if i add 1 GELID fan to be my 4th fan on my setup? or that kind of thing doesn't work?

so long as it's there's not a massive loss of static pressure, which most low-profile fans cause, it will work. That GELID fan is okay but even then, the static pressure compared to the stock H100i fans is more than halved. Those Scythe Slip Streams are abysmal when it comes to static pressure and you would be better off coughing on your radiator to cool them down.

Your best option might be going with a single Push config with an ultra-high performance fan. This koolance fan will get about 5x the performance of the stock H100i fans and should just barely fit in that space when mounted to the radiator (assuming with one 25mm, one 19mm fan, and that radiator is your clearance)

When selecting fans for radiators, Static Pressure is far more important than air flow. Air Flow is how much air a fan can move and Static Pressure is how much air a fan can move through an obstructed space, if that makes any sense. You can have a powerful, high-rpm fan with huge amounts of air flow but it would still be ineffective if it's not Static Pressure optimized.

Thanks for your time to reply Ellis!

I'm afraid i can fit only 25mm fans in a push configuration, i use the HAF XB case by cooler-master and there are 2 fans at the front that can only be 25mm wide, the gap that remains between my radiator and GPU's is about 15mm (double checked now)

Alright, I understand what's going on now. It might be possible to mount the radiator on the front of the case where the existing fans are. You would have to remove those fans of course, but this would allow you more room to play with on the inside of the case for thicker, more powerful fans. I'm not certain how easy it would be to do this because you may have to modify the case for the tubing and because you're using a closed-loop cooler, it will more than likely be impossible.

What I would do is replace the front 25mm cooler master fans with the 25mm corsair fans that came with your H100i, then I would get one more 25mm Corsair fan, either an SP120 Performance Edition or an OEM H100i fan if you can find one for the spot that allows 25mm fans and then for the spot with the limited clearance, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you're unhappy with the performance, you can always throw in a fan that fits but I can't imagine any fan that would fit would really help at all.

You really have a lot of different options for getting the most Static Pressure moving through that radiator.

Well i'm sorry i didn't make it clear but my H100i is already running 3 high static pressure SP120's

In the missing fan spot (in my uploaded picture) i added a 12mm thick scythe 200rpm fan that dropped my GPU's load temps by 10c so i guess that's better than nothing..

Was hoping there was a viable low profile solution for 4pin radiator fans though so i can use 4 identical ones without compromising air pressure.
