would 2 gtx 660s outperform a gtx 770?
i think it would be better to get 1 770 but im not sure? any help appreciated.

The 660s will out preform a single 770 in most cases. That being said the 770 is still a powerful card. Unless you already have a 660 I would pick up a 770. If you do have a 660 then the best upgrade would be adding a 2nd one for much cheaper than a 770.
