I have recently purchased a new asus gtx 770 gpu for my computer, this gpu requires a six-pin pci-e cable and an additional 8 pin one as well.My problem is that i no longer have the 8 pin pci-e cable because my previous gpu (sapphire radeon 7850) did not require one and i seem to have misplaced the 8-pin cable that came with my psu, so i was just wondering if it is possible to buy a new additional 8-pin pci-e cable to attach the psu to the gpu, my psu is a corsair ocz 600w.
I'm quite a noob at this sort of thing so i don't know which cable to buy.

Chances are you cant just buy a new cable, modular interfaces tend to be proprietary, so you cant just get a generic cable that will work.
Best best, check OCZ's website (or whoever owns OCZ's PSU division now, I believe it was sold off to someone in the bankruptcy) for cabling kits or something along those lines. Though more than likely your out of luck TBH.

You can purchase additional cables directly from Corsair or buy a used cable/cable set from an online retailer such as ebay/amazon.

First link only works on specific Corsair PSU's, so is worthless to the OP.
The second I would never consider doing, there is a reason why its two cables to begin with. Molex-PCI adapters are bad since your potentially placing a lot of load where it wasn't intended, this is worse in that your explicitly pulling twice the wattage a cable is intended to provide.

I misunderstood the question I suppose. I thought it was a corsair PSU? I linked the wrong thing I guess, it wasn't supposed to be a splitter, and now the listing I had won't even come up, my apologies. You're right, that can get you into trouble quickly.

What is the specific model of the PSU? There definitely are a ton of models from the manufacturers that are only the resellers/OEM specifiers that have those 'more universal' modular connectors. I also agree on never using those molex to PCIe cables.

A quick experiment: with your system off and the PSU power cable removed from the wall, can you check to see if the end of the 6 pin power cable that goes to the GPU (not the PSU end) will fit into the 8pin PCIe cable spot on the PSU? If so, it's the normal spec for the cable end, not a proprietary one, and you can purchase something like this:

If the 12" length will be adequate, yes. There are other cables if you prefer something sleeved with a different color etc etc, I just did a search on newegg for pcie cable 8 pin.
