Sorry. Thought I did but doing this on my iphone is a pain.

I'm a long time console gamer (forgive me lol) looking at building my first gaming PC. The main reason being the upcoming Witcher 3 which will be far better on PC than console. Plus I will finally be able to play RTS and other PC specific titles along with the likes of modded skyrim/fallout etc.

So far I've no plans for gaming above 1080p but would love everything on ultra at a smooth 60fps or above. My budget is around £1000 (as always cheaper is nicer) but I'm open to stretching if it's worth the jump.

Here's what I've got so far after researching for efficient cool and quiet running parts.

I know we have no precise details on the new nvidia 970/980 but if you guys think they'll be worth the money I can wait.

Cheers

I agree with legend001523, more sticks of ram means more chances for failure, spend the extra 5-10 dollars for 2x4GB

If it were me I would spend less on the case and get a smaller psu.

I can't say for sure if the new cards will be worth the wait, as they are not rebrands clearly there will be an improvement or what is the point. Worth waiting for something you don't know anything about (realworld) that's up to you.

If you want to get gaming I'd say ypu get this

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3gb-palit-gtx-780-super-...(x16)-6200mhz-gddr5-gpu-980mhz-boost-1033mhz-cores-2304

Yes you can afford a 780ti on your budget but @ 1080P it isn't likely worth it.

Yup, dual channel memory is a lot better than 1x8GB RAM.

Thanks 4 the posts.
Gona swap out the memory & psu for the ones from Antons build if theyr jus as gd.

Not sure about the motherboard as I've no idea wot I'm lookin at.

May as well wait a week or 2 and c wot nvidia has up ther sleeve. If it's not worth it then I'll get the:
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100...
Jus want 2 make sure I get sumthin that will play everythin at 1080p ultra 60fps+ for a few years ideally (prob wanting a lot).
I believe the witcher 3 will b highly demanding nxt year.
