Hard Drive spinning, with working cables, but not recognized by the bios?

I have a hard drive here that seems ok (all the SATA pins are there and not twisted or broken). When I use it on my pc, it spins, but is not recognized by the BIOS. I have used mother board ports and cables that I know work so that is not the problem. I think either the SATA port on the HDD is broken, or the head is, any other ideas?

  1. did you try plugging it in on another pc and see if it works there.
  2. I dont have another sata pc to hand I can test it on, I am testing it on a enclosure in a few days to see if that helps
