Networking Issue W/ Steam In-Home Streaming

Okay so I have a scenario I was hoping someone could help me work through.

I currently have residency at a college campus and the way they have their network setup is as follows: each student account is used to log into the school's network and gain access to the internet only. Kind of a private connection in which I cannot see any of the other local computers or devices connected while they cannot see me, yet we all have connection to the default gateway.

So my question is this. Does anyone know if it's possible to use the Steam In-Home Streaming feature in a way which I will have my main gaming desktop hardwired into the schools network normally; while I will have my laptop over at the other side of the apartment acting as the client connected to the very same desktop via a USB Wi-Fi adapter I also have plugged in? I have a feeling the answer is going to be 'no' because I reckon Steam's servers has to see both devices on the sub net connected to the internet for it to allow streaming across Wi-FI.

I'm going for networking and telecommunications so I probably just answered my own question, but input would be helpful.

Thanks,
Josh

Unfortunately, the answer will be no. There could probably be a way to bypass. But the connection would be terrible. Hopefully someone finds out a good solution.

Had kinda the same issue as you, could not find a way. :(
