Should I be running my cores a bit faster?
(i am a newb

I'm just wondering what would be the best oc solution!
a88x G-45 gaming
r9 270x 2gb
2 ripjaw 8gb 1866 (I believe)
500w power supply
212 Evo heatsink
760k Richland Black Edition
(anyone please help for the best solution/ Overclock for this?)

Windows is probably throttling it until it needs the extra speed. When something CPU intensive occurs, it'll apply the OC.

I dont think the CPU itself is corrupt, maybe you just got a unlucky chip.

Also, how'd you get it to 100 percent? Did you stress test it or something? Or did you play a very intensive game?

Yes, I did a stress test but it did not fluctuate or nothing, stayed on 18. So should I contact my retailer and say the chip is flawed?

First, did it always run strictly at 1.8 GHz or did this happen after your OC?

I'd have a little more patience and wait until a more expert person here comes. I have the same exact processor running at 3.8 GHz, and I didnt even OC. I dont plan to either, so with that said, I have little to no OC experience.

Well it doesn't make sense of just staying on 18 and I'm only running 1.8ghz, even when on default settings, it's still not fluctuating like it should.

Do you game on your 760k?
It's been having problems running simple minecraft, it scored horribly in 3dx11 cpu physics with 4fps.

[strike][/strike]I do. 60 plus fps on bf4 and bf3 with my R9 270. I didnt benchmark it cause i just dont believe in that bologna. I know what I need, I dont need numbers telling me to get this processor to get some extra thousand score on a benchmark.

You must really have a bad processor if you get 4 fps in minecraft, I get 60 on that too. 60 plus actually.
