I've been blowing through problem after problem with my gaming rig and everything seems to be working except for Steam Games.
My rig is able to run games that I bought from GOG.com (Gateways, Lone Survivor & Jazzpunk) without any trouble. But everything that I launch out of Steam gives me a grey or black screen combined with audio stuttering. The only way to get out of this is to hold the power button until the PC turns off.
The Steam games that I've tried include Surgeon Simulator 2013, Guns of Icarus Online and Counter-Strike Global Offensive. (CS:GO works at the menu but the moment I spawn in a game I get a grey screen, other times it freezes the moment I get a kill or someone kills me).
Do you have any idea what could be wrong?

Not sure how many of these you've tried already:

Download the latest Graphics driver, directly from AMD and do a fresh re-install.

Download and re-install the latest Audio Driver. Check the AsRock site for the type of on-board audio you're using.

Reinstall Steam. You can backup your games to your hard drive first, if you have a lot to re-install. (Options --> Backup/Restore).

Agree with the drivers, audio driers can also cause crashes.
Verify the game files on Steam before doing the reinstall: open Steam>Library>Right click on game>click properties>local files tab>verify integrity.

The situation has completely deteriorated. There was a trackable decrease in performance, it crashed at YouTube, then at the desktop and now my PC is outright refusing to load windows while the GPU is connected. I've taken the damn thing out and examined it but nothing looks to be amiss. I'm currently refreshing windows, if the GPU still doesn't work I'm wiping the hard drive. If that doesn't work I'm not sure what I'll do.
Also my drivers were up to date (believe me I checked).
I should also add that my computer works flawlessly without the GPU.

Can you record the temps on the video card. You can use the built in control panel, or an application like "MSI Afterburner". If temps are getting above 80-90 in benchmarks, you may want to contact MSI for a replacement.

Don't suppose you have another PC or a friend's rig you could try to pop the GPU in, to see if the issue follows the GPU?

I'd still attempt one more driver re-install of the drivers. Disable Windows Update, do a clean driver removal, re-download the latest driver, shutdown, plug the card in and do a clean install. (Then reboot again and re-enable Windows Update).

Also, check out the audio driver, just for kicks. Maybe a conflict with the HDMI audio on the GPU? Who knows.
