First one is for more for light gaming because of AMD and Nvidia. The other one is more for program use and browsing. So it is basiclly what would he use it to. Anyways hope your friend would be happy with the computer! :). If you could build yourself that would be great. And take a other thread that you want tips on parts. :)

"Newegg only guarantees your receipt of the Open Box product with the purchase of this item. Any accessories MAY OR MAY NOT be included. Newegg will NOT send you any missing accessories, even if it is required to use all of the item's functions. "

This might be a problem.

Will post a build in minutes :) Maybe you don`t want to build it yourself, but lets see what I can do.

He'll only be playing Minecraft with a few mods, smite like medium settings or so, and maybe TERA. All that matters is that he can play them on medium or a little bit high. If I can get a build for him that would be good, since he is moving and doesn't have any money. Trying to get him a gift for his birthday!

It will be much better graphics wise. But this does NOT HAVE an OS. You either need to BUY windows or use LINUX. :D

Do you want a operating system included version?

Also this has a reliable PSU, other units probably had tier4/5 units which are very dangerous!

No need for a keyboard or mouse. An operating system would be good of course. Also, no need for ram since I have 8gb ram lying around. Just make it as cheap as you can. Is this a good build? http://austinnotduncan.com/builds/boson/

Includes an OS, but graphics performance is like %35-40 compared to previous. Either buy that, never upgrade the system in the future, or buy that WITHOUT THE GPU, add GPU later. Or use linux if windows is not a need :)

This, with 8GB RAM you has, is better than the prebuilts. Of course, for little amount of money like 20-30$ you can upgrade to much better parts. For example, the case that built has is just too.. "cheap".

Has better MoBo than you`ve posted. Update the bios with a easy flash (it %98 works out of the box at least enough to update the bios) and O.C. to 4.2 ghz at least using stock cooler.

Better GPU, much better.

Better case and double the storage.

Also includes an DVD Writer.

Better case.

You said you have 8GB RAM lying around.Fine. But please tell the specs. And are you sure it works? Did you test it ?

Also about the R9 270X you will get, what is the model of it?

Also you will get OS from somewhere else, have monitor, keyboard and mouse yeah ?

Edit: Also did not include mail in rebates here. I did not know what it meant. You fill a form and they give your money back it seems. Should I include them ?

Edit 2:

I got your first build. Its without a GPU,RAM and OS so you need to get these yourself.

Also if you want to get everything from one place click "price breakdown by merchant".If you pay 11$ for example, you can get everything from newegg.

Its 330$ from newegg.

Integrated graphics you said. But no, I won`t do it. For this usage and price range (you are building a cheap gaming pc), you either use my previous build, overclock the g3258 to 4.2 using stock cooler, or use this.[/strike]

GT730 is as low as you want to get for a gaming pc. Its listed as the most entry level GPU on TH August GPU Bang for Buck List. Also, the G3220 is as low as you want to go. I considered dropping to celeron, but you lose 1MB cache and some clock speed. Its not worth the 15$ you gain.

So yeah. If you can get the R9 270X, get that G3258 build, flash the bios, OC to 4.2 and have fun gaming. If not, get that one with GT730 and give it to your friend. He will play minecraft no problem, but it wont last much long.

340$ from newegg.

Edit5: Don`t look at the previous one. It has DDR3 memory which is weak. Look at this one. Its 340$ from newegg. This is better because of the GDDR5 memory.
