Made a few changes.
Firstly I changed the CPU to the i5 4670k as if the build if for mainly gaming and not stuff like streaming, 3d rendering and video/picture editing then there is no point in getting the i7 4770k. Secondly I changed the motherboard as the one you had chosen was incompatible with the CPU. Other things I changed were the PSU and RAM as they were cheaper but equally as good. And with the money left over I added the gtx 770 instead of the 760 and there was enough money for a 128 gb ssd for the operating software.

some tweaks to your build:
i5 is better value than i7
better GPU (280X)
added a large (256GB) SSD
smaller PSU, but still plenty to run the GPU and overclock. Half the cost, but as good quality as your earlier model

That looks fairly unbalanced , I rebuilt it from scratch I'll discuss the reasons for my choices.

1-I went for an i5 because its generally the gaming sweetspot and even if you intend to do light video editing it can be done using this processor moreover it can be overclocked easily also going with an i5 allowed me to make a better well-rounded build

2- Asus-Z97A is one of the best motherboards on the market , it will allow overclocking without breaking a sweat and will allow your friend to upgrade to the next gen if he wants

3- SSD for faster boot times and loading times instead of paying a premium for the caviar black without massive performance drop.

4- R9 280X will be on par with the 770 and comes much cheaper.

5- XFX 650W PSU is more than enough for this sytem and even further upgrades ( like an i7 or Liquid cooling or overclocking )

6- Your Ram was overpriced.

7- Case has better airflow and allows larger cards

Everyone quick post your own individual build that's slightly different from the previous so we can confuse the OP.
