Windows 7 install issues

I'm using a brand new Biostar A9600 mother board with an AMD X2 280 3.4 ghtz chip with 4 gigs of ram - all brand new and installed on the mobo from the company I bought it from. They even set the bios, etc... I also have a new hd, and new Corsair power supply.

When I try to install Windows 7, it gets to the install screen for Windows 7, it hangs and eventually says it doesn't have a cd/dvd driver. When I try to give it one, it says "no new hardware found" and I'm stuck. What could be wrong? Any ideas? Thanks!

Is this the error?

A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.

If so I have came across it several times. It's actually looking for SATA drivers since your optical drive is connected to a SATA port. You should find them on Biostar's website.

Alternatively you can install from a USB stick which works around the issue. Just Google "bootable Windows 7 USB" and you should find loads of guides.

That's the error, but my DVD/CD drive is IDE. Would this still be looking for SATA drivers?
