Im really confused as I was about to order the parts and I seen reviews about G-Skill ripjaws x not being compatible with the motherboards.
I looked at the official G.Skill site and compatibility ( My Mobo is Asus M5A97 R.2 0 AMD 970 ) I realized that for my mobo there are only few g.skill compatible memories, the ones that i definitly wouldnt take and then I looked at Asus M5A97 mobo complatible ram and it showed waaaaaay more options, including ripjaws that i wanted. The only difference is that the motheboard doesnt have R2.0 on the end of it, can it make any difference ?

G.skill website : http://www.gskill.com/en/configurator?manu=29&chip=42&model=2135
Ram Memory : http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-12800cl7d-8gbxm
Mobo :

Any suggestions ?

Solution
The thing is the list is not limited to it, it's what they tested.
Most of the time, with asus mobo, as long as the speed and voltage are supported by the mobo, you should be fine.

for your mobo:
Memory 4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 2133(O.C.)/1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture

The memory sticks above should work fine
