Would my spare Quadro work as a PhysX processor with my GTX 470 as a primary GPU? Would it make a difference? Also, is there anything else I could do with my spare card? Specifically, adding it to my computer. Thanks!

Quadro FX 6400? Do you mean FX 4600? I don't remember there being a FX 6400 out in the market. Anyway, it can work as a PhysX dedicated card, just make sure to use the Geforce Drivers with that card.

The only issue I can see is that the card may be a bit weak and may end up bottlenecking your GTX 470 when processing PhysX but I could be wrong since I'm not 100% sure how well the FX 4600 can perform.

This is a very good video to watch when deciding what is the optimal PhysX card for a powerful graphics card.

Anyway, you could also sell the card or use it as a spare/backup in case your main card breaks down unless you can sell it for quite a bit of money even though a bit old.

I thought that they ended support for use of dedicated physx cards back in 2008. I was not aware that you could do it with other cards that weren't made specifically for it. It's not a topic I'm very familiar with but I can't see any major benefits coming from this. But it's always fun to experiment.

You can still do dedicated PhysX cards though lately it's just becoming unnecessary only because the newer cards are powerful enough that there is really no need to do it I think. I guess the older cards may still benefit a bit from it however.

Unless I misread this..., I read that it can support it but you will have to use a Geforce driver instead of the workstation drivers for the card.

Anyway, @OP give it a try if you like and see if you get any FPS improvements with the card. Do a before and after to compare and then you can decide if you would want to keep or sell.
