In the past anytime I wanted to copy the contents from one internal HDD to another machines' HDD I would just take it out, plug it in a different machine, and boom there it was..with that being said..
I have 2 different machines, both capable of supporting 3TB drives, both HDD are in use (showing full capacity, etc.) and have a good amount of data on each.

I removed the 3TB from system A, put it in system B, but it every single time the HDD wants to be re-initialized in the new system AND (AND!!! has to be initialized when the HDD is returned to the home system!!!) asks MBR or GPT..use GPT,so by re-initializing I pretty much made the data useless.
after re-initializing it needs to be formatted to access it....see my problem.

Like I said in the first sentence, it the past HDDs never gave me this problem, plug and play from one system to another just fine.

The only thing I could think of is using GPT instead of MBR treats it differently, but the problem using MBR is limited to a total of 2.2TB...so if I used MBR I wouldn't be able to use roughly 1/3 of the drives capacity.

I have searched around for solutions but came up empty.

This is just something I wanted to do with the drives but this is a true problem...what if some ones machine craps out, they build another, put the 3TB in the new system (mind you filled with family pics, videos, etc.) and can't utilize it in the new system unless it is initialized..boom all info on the drive gone..

Thank you ahead of time for any solutions, called up Seagate and they were about helpful as pissing in the wind..his solution go by a new external drive WTF? Also I explained it to him as clearly as possible but took the tech forever to understand what the hell I was doing.
