Hey everyone,

So I'm building my first computer!!! I know, exciting. I'm building it primarily for music production, no gaming, no video editing etc.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/jWJFmG

That is what I am working with right now, using integrated graphics and the stock cpu cooler. Can someone recommend me a budget PSU?
I took the liberty of ordering a CX500m and a Rosewill Capstone 450 based on reviews. I dont care that the Rosewill isn't modular, but can someone tell me in all honestly which is the better choice? And ultimatly, will they work with my system? I'm very open to advice.

Thanks!

The Capstone is the better choice as it's (I think) is made by Super Flower. I wouldn't recommend the Corsair CX series.

The CX series uses cheap caps and has longevity issues. The Capstone(built by super flower) is easily the best of the 2.

a channel well vs. super flower.

the above are the actual manufacturers of the power supplies you are looking at in respective order.

they are both greeat and the choice is yours between modular and cheaper. you cannot go wrong with either IMO.

I like the rosewill as i rec'd it to a close friend and it has worked ffor over a year without issue.

Awesome. Is it enough power to sustain my build?

You could save some money and get a H97 board since you are not overclocking and don't need SLI capabilities.

Yes, using the integrated Intel gpu 450w is more than enough.

just as a reference for those who do not know

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-psu-br...

manufacturer list for power supply^^^

i would be surprised if either of these units are using great caps but both should be using adequate caps for this wattage.
