Hi guys, i need some help / recommendation on the upgrade i'm planning to do.

This is what i have:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3.

Processor: AMD Phenom II x2 555 BE.

RAM: 2x2gb kingston hyperX 1333 ddr3.

Video card: HD Radeon 6850.

-------------------------------------------------------------

This is what i want:

Motherboard: asrock z87 extreme6 ac.

Processor: i5 4590 haswell.

RAM: 2x2gb kingston hyperX 1333 ddr3.

Video card: SAPPHIRE R9 270X 2GB VAPOR-X OC.

CPU cooler: Cooler master hyper 212 evo.

So what do you guys think? Is it a nice upgrade?.
I'm having some doubts about the video card and the motherboard.
-Which video card would you recommend in the 200-250 price range?.
-The motherboard, is it ok or i would do just fine with a cheaper one?.
-Oh! i also need recommendations on power supply!.

The PC is mainly for gaming, i would like to play games like arma 3.

I know it's a lot, but any kind of help would be much appreciated!!.

P.S: I'm not planning on overclocking, but i'd like to have the option to do so in the future.

Solution
IMO, you could probably get a cheaper Z87 motherboard. You could use that money saved to get a more suitable amount of RAM such as 8GB (2x4GB).

The processor is good but if you ever want to get more performance in the future through overclocking, you could spend 15-20 dollars more and get the i5-4670k.

Also, it would be a good idea to tell us the computer case and especially the power supply you are currently using.

I recommend at least a 500-550W PSU for what I suggested. (Seasonic/Corsair brands are recommended)

As for the video card, you could go for a R9 280 like this one for example

Overall, what you suggested is not bad but a few optimizations are needed to have a decent gaming computer without spending much more than...

I forgot to ask, what monitor resolution are you currently running/monitor size are you using?

Update: Actually, even an i3 will also be adequate with that setup.

Hey Cats! thanks for replying!
I think you're right about the processor, so i'll probably go with the 4670.
The power supply i have it's awful ( cooler master extreme power plus 600 ); so i know i HAVE to change it. Would you recommend a Cooler master or thermaltake? i can't find anyone selling Seasonic or corsair in my country :s
I totally forgot about the computer case!! LOL. I have a cooler master elite 330, so i also need to change it. But i'd like something cheap, with good ventilation, i don't need it to be pretty xD. ( Anything in mind?).
About the monitor, its a 19", 1360x768.; but i will get a better one ( don't know which one yet ) after i finish with this upgrade.

I'm thinking GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-D3H + i5 4670k + R9 280 ? Is it better? I have NO IDEA about the case and the power supply though.

Well, thanks again cats, i really need someone to guide me xd.

That computer case isn't bad. It isn't the best for great air flow but it will do. Definitely upgrade that monitor or stick with a lower end card such as the R9 270 (non X) which is still pretty decent. These days, if you have a 24 inch monitor (1080p) or bigger, then you may consider getting at least a R9 270x. If you don't care too much about the eye candy graphics an want just decent graphics and smooth performance, a R9 270x will definitely suffice. If you have the extra cash, go for a R9 280 or something.

As for the power supply, I suggest looking at this list and see which power supply is offered in your country. A tier 2 will be good or tier 3 will even be enough for what you are building.

Your current power supply should be enough to drive those hardware components though unless it's really old, then I suggest replacing it unless you need to stay within your budget.

K, i got you, thanks a lot for your answers man!!
Just 1 more question, what do you think about the motherboard? Should i go with the GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-D3H, the asrock or neither?
