Searching for signal

I have a samsung SyncMaster 226bw Monitor it is probably 5+ years old. It suddenly stopped working and says searching for signal and to check the cables. I did check the cables by using them to connect a tv that can be used as a monitor they work fine. So I guess this means the Samsung Monitor is dead right?

You mean the source button did not react during this time?.. when you press it intentionally or accidentally, it goes blank and after a few seconds the image returns. Check the info and if you feel it necessary, run a test.
