I have an Alienware M17x r3 and discovered that my GPU is running BIOS version A01.
I downloaded BIOS version A02 and burned it to a CD with the slowest speed and It verified.

When I startup my laptop, I boot from CD, but it's just starting windows 7 as normal.
I have tried with a USB with the software ''HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool'' and the same thing happens.

I want to flash my GPU because it's something wrong with it, but I don't know what.
I just had a clean install with Windows 7. I have downloaded all the drivers (From Alienware and Windows updates)

I have the newest version for my GPU. My score for Graphics is 6,3 out off 7,9.
I know my GPU isn't the fastest one but this got a lot higher score before.
My fps in games is horrible. I get 10 FPS when playing Battlefield 3 on low graphics.
It worked flawless before on high setting.

Other ratings I have is:
Processor: 7,4
RAM: 7,6
HDD: 7,9 (I got a SSD)

But both my graphics shows 6,3

Any idea what can cause why my graphics perform so bad, and Why I cannot flash my GPU bios?

Did you actually burn the image to the disk, or does the disk just have the iso file?
Yes I have CD as my first boot. I have also pressed F12 and selected CD to boot.
I have used PowerIso and Imgburn to burn the ISO file to CD. Doesn't work. I have only burned the ISO file on CD, nothing else.

For USB I used ''HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool'' software and downloaded some sort of windows 98 on it so it would boot. I copied the ISO to the root of the USB. Still doesn't work.

The iso file itself is not a bootable thing. It can't just be burned to a cd as a file. The ISO is an image, and the image has to be burned to a CD. When you use ImagCG, you have to "burn image to cd", and then select the ISO as the image to burn to the cd.

So how do I fix this problem? I need to flash my BIOS since that is my last hope. My GPU is not performing good at all, and everything is up to date. Just had a clean install also. The newest version of the GPU BIOS is A02 and I have A01. But it won't boot from CD. The instruction says: Burn image (ISO) to CD/DVD.
Nothing more then that.
