I have an older Lenovo ThinkPad x120e that has windows 7 64bit installed. I'm looking to upgrade the harddrive to a SSD. This model of thinkpad does not have an optical drive (nor did it come with a windows disc). How would I go about getting a fresh copy of windows onto the SSD after I've upgraded it? I obviously want to use my same windows 7 product key and not have to purchase a new one. I know its possible to install off of a USB drive, or use an external optical drive (wouldn't an external optical need drivers to work?)
